St. Louis DWI Defense Attorney Robert Ciuffa

Since 1973, I have been defending the rights of people in Missouri who are facing criminal charges. My work has provided honest answers and effective legal help to individuals who have been charged with DWI/DUI.

Facing a Vehicular Manslaughter Charge?

Vehicular homicide is a serious criminal charge that requires serious help from a knowledgeable lawyer.

The state has a number of things it needs to prove in order to convict you. With more than 35 years of experience as an attorney and a certification as a medical-legal investigator, I have the knowledge to handle these major felony cases.

I understand that for many people, a drunk-driving arrest is their first and only encounter with the legal system. I am certified as a medical-legal investigator through the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. This added knowledge ensures that the scientific components of a drunk-driving case are always addressed by someone who understands the evidence needed to prove these cases.

Have you or has someone you love been charged with DWI/DUI/impaired driving? Call me today at (314) 997-4321 or contact me by e-mail to schedule your free consultation. My office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by appointment. Jail consultations are also available.

Protecting Your Rights and Your Future

I provide experienced representation to both adults and juveniles who are facing DWI (driving while intoxicated) and DUI (driving under the influence) charges.

DWI/DUI charges can involve alcohol, drugs and even insulin-deficient driving. I also handle DWI/DUI charges involving ATVs and other off-road recreational vehicles.

If you have been arrested for or charged with DWI or DUI, you could face penalties including driver's license suspension, fines and jail time. I strive to minimize the impact these charges and a conviction have on your rights and freedoms.

If you have been arrested for drunk driving in Missouri, did you know that the blood-alcohol test you took might not be scientifically valid?

The legal blood-alcohol limit in Missouri is .08 for adults. For people under the age of 21, we have the "zero tolerance" or "abuse and lose" law. For juveniles, the BAC is .02.

These numbers are crucial to your case. In addition to other elements, the prosecution has to prove your blood-alcohol content (BAC), and it is determined by blood-alcohol tests.

I use my training as a certified medical-legal investigator to build a strong defense on behalf of my clients. I have a solid understanding of the BAC Verifier test, the DataMaster Breath Test, the Intoxilyzer 5000, NHTSA regulations on field sobriety testing, and blood testing protocols.

I can demonstrate that the way the State of Missouri determines the amount of alcohol in your blood is not scientifically valid. This is because Missouri does not follow the scientific protocols that are known to be required to make these blood tests valid. Also in many cases, the calibration of testing equipment is clearly questionable.

I have extensive experience analyzing the administration of blood-alcohol tests and have effectively defended many clients using these and other scientific factors.

If you are facing DUI or DWI charges—whether this is your first offense or a repeat offense—call me now at (314) 997-4321 or contact me by e-mail to schedule your free consultation.
